The Bugatti Chiron Profilée was Auctioned for a Record Rs 88 Crores: The One-Of-Its-Kind Vehicle

After selling for €9.79 million (nearly 88 crores) at a recent auction, the one and only Bugatti Chiron Profilée broke the record for the “most expensive new automobile ever sold at auction.” The 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine in the Profilée produces 1,479 horsepower and 1,180 lb-ft of torque. It takes just 2.3 seconds to go from 0 to 62 mph.

It should be noted, though, that the Chiron Profilee’s auction price is still less than Bugatti’s last one-off model, “La Voiture Noire,” which was billed as the most costly vehicle in the world. According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese professional football player, paid $18.7 million.

The sale of this ultra-rare speed machine will generate donations to charity, according to Bugatti. Interestingly, this unique Chiron Profilee is the third modern Chiron hypercar from a luxury hyper-sports car company.

Since 2020, Bugatti has been working on the Chiron Profilee, a scaled-back version of the Chiron Pur Sport. As with all prior variants, Bugatti initially intended to produce a small number of the Profilee hypercars, but after determining that all 500 Chiron spaces would be filled, the company chose to create just one of them.

Features and Design

The new Bugatti Chiron Profilee, a less radical rendition of the Pur Sport, differs from the latter by having a larger front grille, broader air intakes, and a sleeker fixed rear wing. Additionally, Bugatti’s one-of-a-kind hypercar has recently developed wheels and a distinctive paint job in Argent Atlantique with exposed carbon fiber on the lower side.

The Profilee’s interior resembles other Chiron hypercars’ cabins in many ways. But it has a blue and grey color scheme with chrome trim. In addition, the Profilee has braided leather upholstery on its seats, doors, and dashboard for the first time.

Similar to its predecessor, the Veyron, the Bugatti Chiron’s powertrain and top speed is available in various variations. The Profilee will be the eleventh model to leave the French town of Molsheim, where the Bugatti factory is located.

Performance-wise, the Profilee is powered by the renowned 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W-16 engine from the carmaker, which is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. With 1,479 horsepower available, the one-off hypercar can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.3 seconds and 0 to 124 mph in 5.5 seconds. Additionally, according to Bugatti, the Chiron Profilee’s highest speed was electronically capped at 236 mph, 19 mph quicker than the Pur Sport.
