YouTube, Microsoft Teams & Games Coming to Cars from Google

Google will soon add support for Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx, starting with Android Auto, enabling users to participate in meetings and conversations while driving. YouTube has also been added, a significant development that should give EV drivers something to do while waiting for their cars to charge. GameSnacks, which let users play games like Beach Buggy Racing 2, Solitaire FRVR, and My Talking Tom Friends, are now available in automobiles with Google built-in.

Other upgrades include a more intelligent Google Assistant, which should aid drivers in maintaining their attention on the road as the voice assistant handles duties like answering messages and providing your estimated arrival time.

Waze will soon be available internationally for navigation for automobiles with Google built-in. Users can use the app in addition to Google Maps by downloading it from the Play Store. The navigation apps can soon provide turn-by-turn directions using the vehicle’s digital instrument cluster.

Android Automotive OS 14 will also enable multiple screens, enabling front and back passengers to transfer content from one screen to another. Additionally, front-seat passengers can “assist with navigation” and even select particular entertainment options from their screen when front-passenger displays become more widespread in EVs.
