A custom chatbot creator powered by OpenAI, GPT-4 Turbo unleashes the next generation of AI

OpenAI promised to pay for its clients’ legal costs should they become targets of copyright infringement cases due to using its business-facing generative artificial intelligence models.

At its first developer conference, OpenAI DevDay, OpenAI, the artificial intelligence (AI) research lab behind ChatGPT, it introduced a range of products, including an improved version of its flagship GPT large language model (LLM), GPT-4 Turbo, and tools for creating custom AI chatbots.

The API preview for GPT -4’s Turbo version is accessible, and it has been trained using data through April 2023. This is an update to GPT-4’s March first release, which was trained with data through September 2021.

“We are just as annoyed as all of you, probably more, that GPT’s knowledge about the world ended in 2021,” Altman said.

In the upcoming weeks, OpenAI will deliver a production-ready version of GPT-4 Turbo.

The news was made one day after Grok was made available to a select group of US consumers by Elon Musk’s AI business, xAI.

GPT-4 Turbo, with its 128,000 context window, will have access to a broader information pool. This context window, according to OpenAI, is the equivalent of more than 300 pages of text in a single query. Larger context windows enable LLMs to comprehend the issue more thoroughly and offer more considered answers.

Additionally, the business claims that GPT-4 Turbo helps developers save money. Previously charged at $0.03 with GPT-4, input will now only cost $0.01 per 1,000 tokens, the introductory text or code units that LLMs read.

Additionally supported by the most recent version of GPT-4 are visual prompts, text-to-speech queries, and DALL-E 3 integration.

Form a GPT

Additionally, the company is introducing GPTs, or personalized versions of ChatGPT, which users can design for a particular objective.

“GPTs are a new way for anyone to create a tailored version of ChatGPT to be more helpful in their daily life, at specific tasks, at work, or home—and then share that creation with others,” the business stated in a blog post.

“Building a GPT is simple and doesn’t require any coding knowledge. It said, “You can make them for everyone, only for your company’s internal usage, or for yourself.

GPT Store

The business will launch the GPT shop, its own app shop, later this month. Users can share their own GPTs with the world on this site. In the upcoming months, OpenAI also wants to enable users to earn money based on usage statistics.

“GPTs can go up the leaderboards and become searchable once they’re in the store. In addition, we’ll highlight the most entertaining and helpful GPTs we find in areas like productivity, education, and ‘just for fun,'” the business stated.

Coverage for copyright claims

In addition, OpenAI has promised to pay for its clients’ legal costs should they become targets of copyright infringement cases due to using its business-facing generative AI models.

The business stated, “OpenAI is committed to protecting our customers with built-in copyright safeguards in our systems.” “Today, we’re taking things a step further and introducing Copyright Shield—if you are sued for copyright infringement, we will now intervene on your behalf and cover your legal expenses. This applies to ChatGPT Enterprise’s widely accessible features and our developer platform.”

This places OpenAI in line with major players like Google and Microsoft, which have also pledged to encourage using their generative AI technology.
