Prime Minister Modi says India will lead the world in AI capabilities at Startup Mahakumbh

According to PM Narendra Modi, “the world acknowledges that India will have an upper hand in AI.”

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that India will lead the world in artificial intelligence (AI) and urged young people and startups to focus on developing “Indian solutions for global applications” to address issues that affect countries all over the world.

In his speech at the Startup Mahakumbh, Prime Minister Modi said that the three government-launched missions on artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and quantum technology will create jobs for young people and investment opportunities for international companies.

The world recognizes that India will have an advantage in artificial intelligence (AI) as we enter a new era of technology. Making sure we don’t miss this chance is now our top concern,” he stated.

AI presents countless opportunities for aspiring inventors and international financiers. “India will and should continue to be the leader in AI capabilities…Indian innovators’ solutions will solve challenges for many countries, and I am convinced that this spirit of ‘Indian solutions for global applications’ will be a force,” Prime Minister Modi declared.

PM Modi recalled that he had stated that India will remain a leader in AI in his speech to the US Senate last year.

The prime minister also conveyed confidence that, following the next general elections, his government will provide a complete budget.

He noted the National Quantum Mission, India AI Mission, and Semiconductor Mission and stated that with the emergence of the AI industry, many employment opportunities are being generated for young innovators and investment prospects for global investors.

The National Quantum Mission, which aims to construct intermediate-scale quantum computers with 50-1000 physical qubits in 8 years across diverse platforms like superconducting and photonic technologies, was previously approved by the Union Cabinet.

According to the prime minister, India is planning to improve its startup funding structure in addition to deciding to establish the National Research Foundation with a thousand-crore investment.

A fund of Rs 1 lakh crore has been earmarked for research and innovation in the interim budget. The country has decided to establish the National Research Foundation with an investment of lakhs of crores. Long-term research being done in the sunrise sectors will benefit from this, according to PM Modi.

According to the prime minister, there were only 100 startups in the nation in 2014; today, there are almost 1.25 lakh.

“They are directly related to about 12 lakh youth. More than 110 unicorns are here. Over 12,000 patents have been filed by our startups,” PM Modi stated.

According to the prime minister, he is using AI technology in his election campaign and disseminating his remarks in Telugu, Tamil, and other languages.

A plan of ₹ 10,000 crore has already been authorized by the union cabinet for the India AI Mission. This money will be used to fund firms that are promoting innovation and to construct computer infrastructure. He claimed that young people in India are increasingly creating jobs rather than just looking for them.

The prime minister advised entrepreneurs to promptly file patents, warning that if they didn’t, someone else would begin to utilize their inventions.

According to him, entrepreneurs have transacted over ₹ 20,000 crore on the Government e-Marketplace.

The prime minister added that UPI has greatly benefited financial startups and that technology is strengthening financial inclusivity.

“The gap between the country’s rural and urban areas has narrowed. Concerns existed everywhere when digital advancement first began. It was connected to the have-nots-have theory. The topic of social divides was discussed. India has made technology more accessible. As a result, those with and without cannot work here. According to PM Modi, “We have everything for everyone.”

He mentioned that women are running over 45% of companies and that innovation culture is crucial for both Viksit Bharat and a better future for all people.

He urged unicorns to embrace innovation in the same manner that they had done while they were still developing. As mentors, they ought to additionally stop by educational facilities and Atal Tinkering Labs.
