iOS 17 will feature AI-powered autocorrect and recognize users’ swear

Thanks to AI, autocorrect in iOS is expected to significantly improve.

Apple said that iOS 17 will include an improved autocorrect powered by an AI model that can more precisely forecast the words and phrases you could use next at its yearly WWDC conference. It will eventually become more personalized as it picks up on your favorite words, including profanities.

Craig Federighi, head of software at Apple, said in a pre-recorded talk at the WWDC 2023, “In those moments where you just want to type a ducking word, well, the keyboard will learn it, too.”

It’s the “Transformer” model in question. Since 2017, the Transformer has established itself as the go-to architecture for challenging AI reasoning tasks. It has proven capable of synthesizing music, identifying objects in photos, summarizing texts, and even analyzing proteins.
