LinkedIn is taking a significant step towards enhancing transparency on its platform by introducing labels for AI-generated images. This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), aims to provide users with clear indicators when content has been created using artificial intelligence.

How It Works

AI-generated images shared on LinkedIn will now feature a small C2PA tag in the top left corner. Users can tap on this icon to access detailed information about the image. The tagging process is automated, utilizing embedded code data in the images as per C2PA standards.

Broader Adoption Across Tech Companies

LinkedIn is not alone in this effort. Major technology companies such as Meta, OpenAI, and TikTok have also embraced C2PA standards to label AI-generated content. This collective move underscores a growing industry-wide commitment to combating misinformation and promoting content authenticity.
