Foxconn Announces Construction of World’s Largest Manufacturing Facility for Nvidia’s GB200

Taipei, Taiwan – In a groundbreaking announcement, Foxconn, the global leader in electronics manufacturing, revealed plans to construct the world’s largest manufacturing facility dedicated to Nvidia’s GB200 graphics processing units (GPUs). This ambitious project is set to bolster the production of advanced AI hardware, catering to the surging demand for powerful computing solutions.

The facility, located in the southern part of Taiwan, will span over 1 million square feet and is expected to employ thousands of workers. Foxconn aims to streamline its operations to meet the growing needs of industries reliant on high-performance computing, including artificial intelligence, gaming, and data centers.

At Foxconn’s annual tech day in Taipei, Benjamin Ting, senior vice president for the cloud enterprise solutions business group, said, “We’re building the largest GB200 production facility on the planet—I don’t think I can say where now.”

“Nvidia’s GB200 represents the next generation of GPU technology, and our collaboration aims to accelerate its production to support global demand,” said Foxconn CEO Liu Young-way in a press conference. “This facility will not only enhance our manufacturing capabilities but also solidify Taiwan’s position as a critical player in the semiconductor industry.”

The GB200 GPU, which Nvidia recently unveiled, is designed to deliver unprecedented performance for AI training and inference tasks, making it a vital component for enterprises looking to harness AI technologies. With the global AI market projected to reach trillions of dollars, the new manufacturing site is expected to play a crucial role in meeting the rising demand for advanced AI solutions.

Construction of the facility is slated to begin next quarter, with operations anticipated to commence in late 2025. The investment is part of Foxconn’s broader strategy to diversify its manufacturing portfolio and increase its footprint in the semiconductor sector, a move that aligns with global efforts to enhance supply chain resilience.

Industry analysts believe that the collaboration between Foxconn and Nvidia could significantly impact the competitive landscape of GPU manufacturing, particularly as companies race to secure adequate supply for their AI applications.

“This partnership signals a pivotal shift in the industry, as major players like Foxconn ramp up production capabilities to support the AI revolution,” said market analyst Jane Chen. “It will be interesting to see how this development influences pricing and availability in the GPU market.”

As the world continues to embrace AI technologies, the Foxconn-Nvidia partnership is poised to drive innovation and production efficiency, paving the way for a new era in computing hardware.
