Stargazers' Delight: Look to the skies soon—you might witness a cosmic resurrection! NASA reports that a "zombie" star system, T Coronae Borealis (T CrB), could become visible to the naked eye as it revives from its cosmic grave.

The Celestial Duo: T CrB, located 3,000 light-years away, consists of two stars orbiting each other—a dense white dwarf, the "vampire" star, and a massive red giant nearing the end of its life.

A Fiery Rebirth: Roughly every 80 years, the white dwarf siphons material from the red giant until it ignites in a brilliant explosion, known as a nova. This process last occurred in 1946, and scientists believe the next eruption could happen any time now!

Spotting the "Zombie" Star: To catch a glimpse, find the constellation Corona Borealis near the Big Dipper. No telescope needed—just keep an eye out for a weeklong cosmic show when T CrB erupts!

NASA's Insight: Dr. Bill Cook explains that these explosive cycles allow T CrB to resurrect periodically, giving skywatchers a rare chance to see this "new" star.
