Microsoft has unveiled the Voice Clarity feature, which enhances Windows 11’s video calling capabilities with artificial intelligence technologies. The functionality, which was previously only available on Surface devices, is now available to all users and debuted in the most recent Canary edition of Windows 11.
Real-time reverberation reduction, echo cancellation, and background noise suppression are all made possible by the new Voice Clarity feature, which is driven by sophisticated AI models.
Microsoft announced the feature in a blog post, stating, “Voice Clarity is a feature that enhances your audio experience on Windows with cutting-edge AI technology.” Voice Clarity uses low-complexity AI models to cancel echo, decrease background noise, and eliminate reverberation in real-time.
Apps utilizing Communications Signal Processing Mode, including Phone Link and WhatsApp, can make use of this capability, which is enabled by default. Voice Clarity supports x64 and Arm64 CPUs, so no additional hardware is necessary,” the Richmond-based startup noted.
According to Microsoft, the new functionality will assist in providing a richer audio experience for PC games that use Communications Signal Processing Mode for online chat, but it will be especially useful for users that meet online frequently.
The Canary Build of Windows 11 introduces new features such as accessing recent photographs, screenshots, and pictures from Android devices in the Snipping Tool. After enabling this function, users will receive a notification on their PC anytime a new photo or screenshot is captured with their Android phone.
Furthermore, the next update will begin to provide compatibility for the current generation USB standard, USB 80Gbps, on select devices running Intel Core 14th Gen HX-series mobile processors, such as the Razer Blade 18.
