Apple Partners with Wistron, Foxconn, and Pegatron for iPhone 14 Manufacturing in India

On Tuesday, even after the grand opening of India’s first Apple retail store in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), the excitement continued. What grabbed the attention was the Apple CEO, Tim Cook’s reaction, when a fan brought an old Macintosh Classic machine, which was more than 33 years old, to the store. Cook was amazed and his reaction was priceless.

A self-proclaimed diehard fan of Apple products, dressed in a black turtleneck and yellow cap, walked into the store. He stated that he has been loyal to the brand ever since Steve Jobs founded the Apple computer.

In 1984, at Apple’s annual shareholder’s meeting in Cupertino, California, the first Macintosh was introduced by former Apple CEO Steve Jobs. The computer was unveiled with a 9-inch black and white display and was sold at an affordable price.

Recently, the Apple CEO shared a picture on Twitter from the grand opening of the Mumbai store, expressing his excitement about the energy, creativity, and passion he witnessed in Mumbai. At the store opening, there were loud cheers as Cook threw open the doors, and many gadget enthusiasts eagerly posed for selfies with him. People were seen waiting patiently in queues outside the store in the early hours of Tuesday.

On Monday, Tim Cook tweeted a photo of himself and the Mumbai store team, expressing his eagerness to welcome customers to the new Apple BKC store. Apple’s Delhi outlet is scheduled to open at 10 am on Thursday, after the company launched its first online store in India in 2020. However, the physical store launch plans were delayed due to the Covid pandemic.

On Thursday, Apple’s second outlet in India will be inaugurated at Delhi’s Saket Mall, marking a significant expansion of the US tech giant in the country. This will be the first-ever brick-and-mortar retail outlet in India, offering personalized services and experiences to customers.

Apple has been heavily focusing on manufacturing its products in India, leveraging the growth of the electronics market in the country. Just days after the global unveiling, Apple started manufacturing its latest iPhone 14 models in India. The US tech giant has partnered with the top three global smartphone manufacturers — Wistron, Foxconn, and Pegatron — in India.
