Ashley Hurwitz joins FASTA as Head of People and Culture, driving HR strategy and leadership growth at the South African fintech firm.

Ashley (Egnal) Hurwitz has been appointed Head of People and Culture at FASTA, bringing more than 30 years of experience in human resources, leadership development, and organizational transformation to the fast-growing digital consumer finance platform.
In her new role, Hurwitz will lead FASTA’s people strategy, supporting organizational growth while fostering a culture aligned with innovation and performance across South Africa.
Prior to joining FASTA, she served as a Consulting Specialist at the Elliot Osrin Leadership Institute, where she contributed to leadership resilience programs for youth and adults through curriculum design, facilitation, and coaching initiatives.
She has also worked as an Independent Practitioner, Facilitator, and Coach with Lumina Learning South Africa, focusing on personality profiling, team effectiveness, conflict management, and leadership growth. In addition, she founded Ashley Hurwitz Consulting, advising organizations on navigating remote and hybrid work models while strengthening engagement and team performance.
Earlier in her career, Hurwitz held senior change management and consulting roles at Barloworld Limited, Old Mutual South Africa, IBM Business Consulting Services, and PwC Consulting. She began her HR leadership journey at Edcon, ultimately serving as Divisional Human Resources Manager.
Her appointment marks a strategic move for FASTA as it continues expanding its digital financial solutions, including FASTACard and FASTACash, to consumers nationwide.
