Tata Technologies Limited has announced the completion of a strategic joint venture with BMW Holding B.V., Netherlands, to form BMW TechWorks India Private Limited (BTIPL).
The new business, which will be established on July 31, 2024, seeks to support BMW Group’s digital transformation activities by providing innovative automotive software and digital solutions. This collaboration highlights the increased emphasis on combining technology and engineering to improve the automotive sector.
Following BMW’s Rs 1,00,000 investment in BTIPL, the joint venture was formed, with Tata Technologies and BMW owning B.V. owning a 50% stake as equal owners. BTIPL, once a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Technologies, is now in a position to make a substantial contribution to BMW’s software-defined vehicle (SDV) activities, with an emphasis on business IT solutions and premium product engineering.
The contribution of BTIPL will be crucial to BMW’s technical advancement, which aims to boost digital innovation and enhance client experiences. The joint company, which has an authorized share capital of Rs 10,00,000, would improve BMW Group’s engineering capabilities in India.
