Giovanni Villa joins Nexi Group as Head of Corporate Governance, bringing decades of leadership in legal, governance, and corporate affairs.
Milan, Lombardy, Italy – March 2026 – Giovanni Villa has taken on a new leadership role as Head of Group Corporate Governance and Secretary of the Board at Nexi Group, bringing decades of expertise in corporate affairs, governance, and legal leadership across prominent European organizations.
In his new position, Villa will lead the company’s corporate governance framework and oversee board-level operations, ensuring strong governance practices, regulatory compliance, and effective strategic decision-making. His appointment aligns with Nexi’s continued expansion and influence within Europe’s rapidly evolving digital payments landscape.
Before joining Nexi, Villa spent nearly 18 years at Prysmian, where he served as Director of Corporate Affairs. During his tenure, he played a key role in strengthening governance structures and supporting high-level strategic initiatives.
Earlier, he held the position of Director of Corporate Affairs at Sorin Group, further enhancing his expertise in corporate governance and legal operations within an international business environment.
Villa’s career also includes roles at Mediolanum SpA, as well as Finanza & Futuro and Cardif Assicurazioni, where he built a strong foundation in corporate secretarial and legal functions.
