OpenAI has implemented a new feature to ChatGPT that allows users to tag GPTs in any chat with the @ command. The marked GPTs will have full context for the discourse and can be summoned to assist with a variety of tasks.
By using the @ command to tag the chosen GPT, OpenAI is introducing a new feature to ChatGPT that facilitates the integration of GPTs into any discussion. According to the AI startup, the tagged GPTs will have access to the entire conversation, and other GPTs can be called in to assist with specific needs.
It should be noted that OpenAI is now limited to use by paying customers when creating, browsing and using GPTs. Therefore, not all users will have immediate access to this new feature.
OpenAI announced the new feature in a post on X (previously Twitter), saying, “You can now include GPTs in any conversation in ChatGPT – just type @ and select the GPT.” This enables you to provide important GPTs alongside the entire context of the conversation.”
A GPT store, akin to an app store, was launched by OpenAI earlier this month to assist consumers in locating helpful and well-liked GPTs. OpenAI reported that over 3 million bespoke versions of ChatGPT have been generated since the introduction of GPTs at its inaugural developer conference three months ago.
The GPT shop was designed to allow developers to monetize their offers by selling custom GPTs, and the firm may eventually implement this feature. However, the company, helmed by Sam Altman, must first improve GPT adoption rates.
According to Similarweb data cited by TechCrunch, bespoke GPTs account for only 2.7% of total traffic on the OpenAI website, which has been falling month after month since inception.
GPTs: What are they?
Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPT) are customized versions of ChatGPT that may be produced by paying customers to construct a chatbot that matches their specific needs and then shared with others to utilize.
The bespoke GPTs can access the internet, DALL-E, and code interpreters. In addition to the built-in features, developers can also define additional actions by giving APIs to the GPT.
