According to Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) 2024, Microsoft, TCS, and Amazon are the top three employer brands in India. The survey identifies important variables that affect hiring and retaining employees, such as career advancement, work-life balance, and artificial intelligence.
As per the Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) 2024, Microsoft has been identified as the most ‘attractive employer brand’ in India. TCS and Amazon rank second and third, respectively.
The survey revealed that Microsoft received excellent ratings for its financial stability, positive reputation, and possibilities for professional advancement—the top three factors influencing an organization’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
Other companies that rank among the top 10 most attractive employer brands include Mercedes-Benz (10th), Samsung India (6th), Infosys (7th), Larsen & Toubro (8th), Reliance Industries (9th), and Tata Power Company (4th).
Almost 1,73,000 people and 6,084 companies worldwide were surveyed by the independent REBR 2024, with approximately 3,507 respondents coming from India.
The workforce’s evolving expectations are reflected in the observations from this year’s research. “Organizations need to rethink their talent acquisition and retention strategies as talent increasingly prioritizes equity and work-life balance,” stated Viswanath PS, MD & CEO of Randstad India.
According to this year’s report’s findings, there has been a stabilization in the intention to switch jobs since last year. To attract and keep top talent, employers must still provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes possibilities for career advancement, a flexible and pleasant work environment, and a good work-life balance.
The fact that most workers received inflation compensation from their companies is also heartening. Employers should strongly consider investing in upskilling their personnel in new technologies, as the data also show talent’s strong interest in harnessing AI in their work.
According to the research, the three most significant EVP factors influencing Indian workers’ decisions when selecting an employer are equitable treatment, work-life balance, and competitive pay and benefits.
It further stated that equal opportunities, which were only recently measured this year, had surpassed pay and benefits as the second important element.
Impact of Artificial Intelligence: According to the survey, almost 50% of participants utilize artificial intelligence (AI) either daily or regularly, with Gen Z being the group most likely to use AI (60%) in the workplace. In the next five years, 88% of talent anticipates AI will have an impact on their careers. Just 8% of talent think adversely about AI’s possible effects.
Equitable Workplace: 73% of Indian workers report feeling that their identity has prevented them from advancing in their profession, with over half of them identifying as members of a minority group. Female talent already views their companies’ stance on equity more favorably than male talent. This emphasizes how important it is for companies to deal with equity concerns early on.
Trends in remote work: Although numbers are much lower than in 2021 during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, most people still work remotely. Of the talent questioned, 61% work remotely in some capacity, 40% work remotely in part, and 21% work remotely entirely. While hybrid working is more popular among younger generations than Gen X, full-time remote work is more common among women (23%) than males (18%).
India’s most attractive sectors in 2024: Every industry is becoming more and more adorable at about the same pace. In 2024, the automotive industry held the top rank with 77% of the total. This was followed by IT, Communication, Telecom & ITeS, FMCG, Durables, Retail, and E-Commerce at 75%, BFSI, and Consulting at 74%.
The survey also shows that thirty percent of talent departs an organization because there aren’t enough flexible work options, thirty percent because there aren’t enough prospects for professional advancement, and thirty percent because their pay isn’t commensurate with the rising cost of living.
