University Health appoints Michelle Garcia as Vice President of Human Resources to lead workforce strategy and talent development initiatives.
San Antonio, Texas, United States — March 2026: Michelle Garcia has been appointed Vice President of Human Resources at University Health, reinforcing the organization’s leadership team as it continues to strengthen its workforce strategy and employee development initiatives.
In her new role, Garcia will lead key human resources priorities, supporting talent management, leadership development, and employee experience initiatives aligned with the health system’s mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to the communities it serves.
Garcia’s appointment marks a continued progression within University Health, where she has built a career spanning more than two decades. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of Human Resources from August 2020 to March 2026, contributing to HR leadership and operational direction across the organization.
Earlier, she held the position of Assistant Director of Human Resources from May 2015 to August 2020, further expanding her expertise across workforce planning, HR operations, and organizational development within the San Antonio-based health system.
With her promotion to Vice President, Garcia is expected to play a key role in strengthening workforce readiness and organizational effectiveness, collaborating with leadership teams across the enterprise to support the health system’s long-term strategic goals.
