ChatGPT members can now make up to two AI photos for free every day, according to an OpenAI announcement.
In contrast to its rivals such as Google Gemini and Microsoft CoPilot, ChatGPT did not offer picture production until 2023, at which point it became available only to premium users (Plus and Enterprise users). Its image creation feature is now available to free users, but just twice a day.
OpenAI posted on X, saying, “We’re rolling out the ability for ChatGPT Free users to create up to two images per day with DALL·E 3.”
OpenAI said in its post, “Just ask ChatGPT to create an image for a slide deck, personalize a card for a friend, or show you what something looks like.”
After being introduced by OpenAI in November 2022, ChatGPT is capable of a wide range of tasks, including coding, creating music and poetry, and gathering information from the internet.
How does the AI Image-generating feature of ChatGPT operate?
DALL·E 3, OpenAI’s text-to-image AI model, which was launched in October 2023, serves as the foundation for ChatGPT’s image-generating capability.
Intricate details, such as text, hands, and faces, can be consistently rendered by DALL·E 3, according to the program’s description on OpenAI’s website.
According to OpenAI, the function “is particularly good in responding to extensive, detailed prompts, and it can support both landscape and portrait aspect ratios.” Images are generated in response to prompts provided by users.
Although it isn’t currently accessible to everyone, the new free image creation option will be made available to users gradually.
