Peak XV has announced the selection of 14 start-ups for the 10th cohort of its Surge platform, a seed-stage initiative designed to support early-stage founders. This program provides mentorship, resources, and funding to help start-ups grow and thrive in competitive markets globally.
The latest cohort includes start-ups from diverse regions such as India, Singapore, the Philippines, China, the UAE, Australia, the UK, and the US. This selection highlights Surge’s commitment to fostering innovation in emerging sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), developer tools, consumer brands, fintech, and healthcare.
Rajan Anandan, Managing Director at Peak XV and Surge, emphasized the rigorous selection process that narrowed down approximately 4,000 applicants to just 14. Notably, this cohort includes Surge’s first health tech-focused company. “The caliber of the founding teams is crucial for us. These entrepreneurs possess deep industry knowledge, and we’re excited to support those leveraging AI to create transformative products,” Anandan stated.
The application window for this cohort opened on July 11 and closed on August 15. The selected start-ups will participate in an acceleration program from October to February, starting with an in-person week in Bengaluru and concluding with another in the San Francisco Bay Area, while the remainder will be conducted virtually.
Surge plans to invest up to $3 million in seed capital across all participating companies through equity stakes. Following its split from Sequoia Capital in 2023, Peak XV continues to be a major investor in tech ventures throughout India and Southeast Asia, with a substantial fund of ₹16,000 crore ready for deployment across various stages and sectors.
