Reliance Jio Partners with Google to Offer Free Google AI Pro Plans to Millions of Users
Mumbai, India — October 31, 2025: In a landmark collaboration, Reliance Industries and Google have joined forces to bring the Google AI Pro plan to millions of Reliance Jio’s wireless subscribers across India. The initiative marks a major step in democratizing access to cutting-edge artificial intelligence tools for everyday users.
The partnership comes shortly after OpenAI announced complimentary ChatGPT Go plans for Indian users, further highlighting the country’s growing role in the global AI landscape.
Under this offer, Jio subscribers will receive the Google AI Pro plan free for 18 months, which includes:
- Access to the latest Gemini large language models
- A suite of AI-powered tools for text, image generation, and learning
- 2 terabytes of cloud storage on Google Drive
Initially, the rollout will target users aged 18 to 25, with a wider audience expected to gain access in the coming months.
The partnership extends beyond consumers — it also features a significant enterprise collaboration. Reliance Intelligence, a newly formed subsidiary of Reliance Industries, will work with Google Cloud to expand access to its advanced AI hardware accelerators (TPUs) and enterprise solutions across India. Reliance will act as a strategic go-to-market partner for Gemini’s enterprise AI products, helping businesses adopt scalable AI solutions.
This partnership also aligns with Reliance’s broader vision of building large-scale data center infrastructure in Gujarat and positioning India as a hub for global AI innovation.
While telecom operators have often teamed up with tech companies to provide bundled services — such as OTT streaming — this collaboration stands out for its unprecedented scale. Every Jio user on an unlimited 5G plan (starting at ₹349/month) will be eligible, effectively giving millions of Indians free access to premium AI tools valued at ₹1,950 per month.
The move positions Jio and Google at the forefront of India’s AI revolution, setting a new benchmark for consumer technology partnerships in the digital era.
