Simon Milner to Exit Meta After 14-Year Tenure

Simon Milner

Simon Milner, Meta’s VP of Public Policy for APAC, will exit the company after 14 years, supporting a smooth leadership transition in 2026.

Simon Milner, Vice President of Public Policy for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region at Meta, has announced his decision to step down from the company later this year, marking the end of a 14-year journey with the global technology giant.

Milner shared the update via LinkedIn, confirming that he plans to retire from full-time work and move into the next phase of his career. Reflecting on his tenure, he described his time at Meta as “off the scale in terms of opportunity, challenge and impact,” highlighting the scale and complexity of policy leadership across the APAC region.

As part of the transition, Milner will remain with Meta for the next few months to support the identification of his successor and ensure a smooth handover for the APAC Public Policy team. Commenting on his experience, he noted that spending the last eight years focused on the most critical policy issues for both Meta and the APAC region has been the privilege of his career.

Before joining Meta, Milner spent the first half of his professional journey in senior public policy roles at the BBC and British Telecom, building a strong foundation in media, telecommunications, and regulatory engagement.

His departure marks a significant leadership transition for Meta’s APAC policy operations, as the company prepares for its next chapter of regional policy leadership.
