The International Gen AI Conclave, which is set to take place in Kochi on July 11 and 12, will include around 20 AI firms from Kerala showcasing their technologies. The government of Kerala and computing behemoth IBM are co-hosting the colloquium, which is the first of its type to be held in the nation.
Anoop Ambika, the CEO of Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), stated that the conference will provide the companies with new business and growth prospects. Anoop told TNIE, “Our entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to network with both domestic and foreign industry participants as well as other stakeholders present at the meeting. According to him, participating firms can discover new markets, attract new investors, or receive mentorship from IT students.
The conclave will discuss the implications of generative AI, its difficulties and recent advancements, as well as potential ways to use AI to further India’s economic development and the professional development of its youth. Highlights of the event include panel discussions, interactive seminars, and product demonstrations on how generative AI can be used confidently and trustworthily.The startups were chosen according to the concepts they presented at the virtual hackathon known as the “IBM Watsonx Challenge.”
The KSIDC has stated that the hackathon winner will receive a scale-up fund of up to `1 crore, as revealed by Industries Minister P Rajeeve. “The Industries Department has designated 22 priority sectors, including AI. The goal of the GenAI conference is to establish Kerala as a significant hub for AI. In ten to fifteen years, the department expects, the state will emerge as a top location for high-tech firms,” he said.
Industry executives, decision-makers, inventors, and academics from the software, defense, and artificial intelligence fields will be present at the conclave, which is scheduled to take place at the Lulu Grand Hyatt Bolgatty International Convention Centre.
Steve Lee Smith, a technology executive and former NASA astronaut, will be the conclave’s main speaker. On July 11, the opening day, Smith will give a speech titled “Lessons Learned from a Skywalker” at 4:15 p.m.
