According to Elon Musk, artificial intelligence that is superhuman and smarter than anyone on Earth may become a reality by the end of the next year. He has previously predicted that by 2029, superintelligent AI might exist.
Superintelligent people are frequently described as being smarter than all humans put together, regardless of task, and superhuman people are defined as being smarter than any one human.
In a live-streamed interview on his social network X, the multibillionaire shared his recent viewpoint. But he added a disclaimer to his prediction, saying that the capacity might be constrained by rising power requirements and a concurrent shortage of the strongest AI training chips.
According to him, there was a global chip shortage in 2023 and not enough Nvidia chips were available. The supply of voltage transformers is lacking this year. There will be a power supply issue for a year or two at most.
He was giving a speech at the launch of his AI firm, xAI. To prevent the same, he argued, it is crucial to be concerned about a Terminator future. He was referring to a movie about a sentient computer system that can fight for humanity or against it.
The CEO of Tesla even stated in a recent interview that his xAI firm is attempting to take the lead in the advancement of superintelligence. He continued by saying that his Grok AI chatbot was comparable to the OpenAI-developed ChatGPT-4, which is presently leading the industry.
Since ChatGPT-4 has been available for more than a year, competitors have undoubtedly either surpassed or matched it in functionality. The Anthropic stable’s Claude 3 Opus has become the new leader in the sector.
