As of September 26, Elon Musk’s net worth is $270 billion, and Jeff Bezos’s is $215 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Just 2,781 people in the world are billionaires out of the approximate 8 billion people. Of them, just three are members of the elite $200 billion club: Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and the richest person on the planet; Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon; and Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, who joined recently.
As of September 26, the Bloomberg Billionaire’s Index indicates that Musk is valued at $270 billion, Bezos at $215 billion, and Zuckerberg at $202 billion. This places the co-founder of Facebook ahead of other notable industry figures, such as former Microsoft CEOs Steve Ballmer and Bill Gates, and co-founder of Oracle Larry Ellison, who is also vying for a membership in the club.
According to Fortune, Zuckerberg not only recently joined the $200 billion club, but he also emerged as the list’s largest winner, amassing dozens of billions of dollars in wealth by 2024. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the 40-year-old’s wealth has increased by an astounding $71.8 billion this year.
According to Meta Platforms’ April proxy statement, which Fortune published, he owns approximately 345.5 million shares, or almost 13 percent of the company, which accounts for the majority of his wealth.
Famously, the billionaire only receives $1 in pay since he makes up the difference through “other compensation” and his sizable Meta investment. According to the publication, he received $24.4 million in “other compensation” this year.
On December 15, 2015, the same day that his wife Priscilla Chan gave birth to a daughter, he declared that he would donate 99 percent of his Meta shares to support charitable causes. Additionally, in September 2010, he gave the public school system in Newark, New Jersey, $100 million worth of Facebook shares. According to Bloomberg, he has also given the Silicon Valley Community Foundation 36 million shares. Additionally, by the year 2100, Zuckerberg and Chan plan to have spent $3 billion trying to prevent, treat, or eradicate all diseases.
