Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova has met with senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs to discuss the ongoing conflict in her country. She highlighted the need for India to be pragmatic in diversifying its energy resources, military contracts, and political interactions, given the current extraordinary times. Dzhaparova’s visit to India is the first official visit by a Ukrainian minister since Russia launched its military offensive in Ukraine last year. During her visit, she is scheduled to meet with Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi and Deputy National Security Adviser Vikram Misri. In her meetings, Dzhaparova underscored that Ukraine has never attacked anyone like India and is, in fact, a victim of unprovoked and neocolonial war. She also expressed hope for India’s greater involvement in global issues and challenges, such as economic, energy, and nuclear challenges, and underscored the importance of supporting the values of justice and peace. Dzhaparova stated on Twitter that supporting Ukraine is the right choice for a true Vishwaguru.
