Unitree Robotics has made waves in the robotics industry with the unveiling of its latest humanoid robot, the G1, boasting an impressive price tag of $16,000. While this may still seem hefty, it’s a staggering 90% cheaper than its predecessor, the H1, which sold for over $150,000. Advanced Features and Dexterity of the G1 Humanoid Robot

The G1 is packed with advanced features, including up to 43 joint motors that provide remarkable limb articulation. Unitree’s demo video highlights the G1’s extreme dexterity and versatility, showcasing its capability to perform a variety of tasks with ease. The robot’s “hollow joint” wiring, combined with its numerous joint motors, allows for unlimited movement.

Sporting a helmet head with 3D LiDAR sensors and a depth camera, the G1 diverges from traditional humanoid designs with its three-fingered hand, which offers enough mobility to select and smash walnuts or open bottles. The G1 also excels in precision tasks such as flipping food in a pan or soldering wires.

Standing at four feet, two inches tall, the G1 can run at 4.5 mph and maintain balance even after taking kicks and punches. However, its battery life is limited to just two hours. Unitree has revealed that the G1’s AI operates on imitation and reinforcement-driven learning.

According to Unitree, the G1 will be available in both a base model and a more advanced version. The base model starts at $16,000, plus taxes and shipping. The G1 EDU model is aimed at research and commercial purposes, while the base G1 could find its way into homes as a versatile robot butler.
