Wipro‘s shares experienced a notable uptick, surging by as much as 3.11% to reach ₹273.95 per share on Thursday, marking the most significant intraday gain since March 3, 2025. This surge follows the company’s announcement of its Agentic AI services, designed to assist nations in developing and deploying artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities while maintaining data sovereignty.
The Agentic AI services aim to foster economic growth and innovation by leveraging local infrastructure, workforce, and business networks. These services are powered by Wipro’s WeGA Studio and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, creating an AI-powered ecosystem to enhance citizen experiences across sectors such as banking, emergency response, healthcare, and education.
A key feature of this initiative is the development of customized large language models for regional languages, starting with Thai and expanding to Indian and South Asian languages, including Arabic. This enhancement aims to improve accuracy and cultural relevance in AI-driven interactions for governments and enterprises.
Nagendra Bandaru, President and Managing Partner at Wipro Technology Services, emphasized the importance of ethical and transparent AI solutions, stating, “Organizations are seeking AI solutions that are not only effective but also ethical and transparent.” He highlighted that collaboration with NVIDIA enables rapid deployment of AI agent systems while addressing concerns over data privacy, security, and national sovereignty.
This development aligns with Wipro’s recent strategic initiatives, including the launch of the Lab45 AI Platform in June 2024, which leverages generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning technologies to transform business functions. Additionally, in February 2024, Wipro expanded its partnership with IBM to introduce the Enterprise AI-Ready Platform, utilizing IBM’s watsonx AI and data platform to accelerate AI adoption among enterprises.
