The CBSE warns schools after AI finds huge gaps between theory and practical marks among 50% of students

Advanced artificial intelligence methods were utilized by the board to analyze the findings of students from approximately 500 linked schools.

Based on data from the previous year’s results, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has identified a considerable discrepancy between theory and practical scores in some courses among 50% or more students in around 500 CBSE-affiliated institutions.

To analyze the outcomes, the CBSE used sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) techniques.

The variation emphasizes the necessity of careful evaluation during in-class practical exams. As a result, the board has advised these institutions to examine their internal evaluation practices.

“The objective is to establish a more resilient, lucid, and trustworthy system to guarantee that the evaluation procedure is practical and contributes significantly to the learners’ educational path,” the CBSE guideline said.

The guideline further stated that it acts as a reminder to give fairness and accuracy top priority when grading practical exams, which would raise the standard of instruction provided in institutions associated with the CBSE.
