Crediflow AI Raises €1.8M to Bring AI Automation to Commercial Lending

UK FinTech startup Crediflow AI has raised €1.8 million (£1.5 million) in fresh funding to accelerate the development of its AI-powered platform, which aims to eliminate time-consuming manual tasks in commercial loan processing and help lenders make faster, smarter credit decisions.

Commercial lending is essential to business growth, but the process of evaluating borrowers, reviewing financial documents, and assessing credit risks can often be slow and resource-intensive. Manchester-based FinTech startup Crediflow AI is looking to change that equation with artificial intelligence. The company has secured €1.8 million (£1.5 million) in funding to expand its technology and bring greater efficiency to the commercial lending ecosystem.

The investment round was led by NPIF II – PXN Equity Finance, managed by PXN Ventures under the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II). Early-stage venture capital firm Haatch and several angel investors also participated in the round.

The latest investment marks an important milestone for the young company as it looks to address one of the longstanding challenges in commercial finance: the heavy dependence on manual processes that slow down lending decisions and limit how efficiently financial institutions can scale their loan portfolios.

Bringing AI Efficiency to Commercial Loan Processing

Founded in 2024 by Drey Kenfack, Crediflow AI is developing technology designed to simplify the complex financial assessment processes that commercial lenders undertake before approving loans.

Traditionally, credit teams spend considerable time collecting, reviewing, and organising borrower information from multiple sources, including financial statements, bank transactions, tax returns, and other supporting documents. This information must then be structured and analysed before a lending decision can move forward.

Crediflow AI aims to remove much of this administrative burden through an integrated AI-powered platform that brings these fragmented documents and financial data together, transforming them into structured information that credit professionals can use for assessment and approval.

At the centre of its offering is FlowSpread, the company’s flagship product. The solution automates financial spreading by extracting important financial information, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow figures, directly from PDFs, tax returns, and bank statements. By eliminating repetitive data entry, the technology allows credit professionals to spend less time preparing financial information and more time evaluating borrowers.

The company also offers a Bank Statement Analysis tool that provides deeper insights into a borrower’s financial position. It automatically categorises transactions across multiple bank accounts, compares them against submitted financial statements, and identifies potential warning signs.

These indicators include unusual transaction patterns, fluctuations in cash flow, and concentration risks, helping lenders gain a clearer understanding of borrower activity and potential exposure.

According to Crediflow AI, processes that traditionally take several days can be reduced to approximately 10 to 30 minutes using its platform. The technology is already being used by hundreds of credit professionals across the UK, Europe, and the United States, with clients including AddWorking Capital and Iveco Capital.

A Founder Who Understands the Challenges of Commercial Lending

Crediflow AI’s approach is closely connected to the professional experience of its founder, Drey Kenfack, who spent more than a decade working across commercial lending and private credit.

Before establishing the company, Kenfack held senior credit positions at Ford Credit Bank, DF Capital Bank, and Advance Global Capital. His experience gave him first-hand exposure to the operational demands of lending institutions, particularly the time and resources required to assess businesses, process applications, approve financing, and monitor credit risks.

That industry knowledge helped shape Crediflow AI’s mission: making commercial lending more efficient without compromising the quality of credit assessment.

Reflecting on the challenges lenders face as they expand their portfolios, Kenfack explained that growing a loan book involves much more than securing borrowers and having capital available. Financial institutions must also have the operational capacity to assess businesses, move applications through approval processes, and monitor risks after funds have been disbursed.

He highlighted how extensive manual preparation can restrict lending capacity and influence which financing opportunities lenders are able to pursue.

Crediflow AI was created to reduce that workload, giving credit teams more time to understand borrowers, evaluate opportunities, and structure appropriate financing solutions.

Investors See Potential in Transforming the Lending Ecosystem

The latest funding reflects growing investor interest in technology that addresses practical operational challenges within financial services.

Joe Ball, Senior Investment Associate at PXN Ventures, noted that businesses across industries and of different sizes depend on commercial finance for various growth and operational requirements. However, the largely manual processes involved in granting financing often create inefficiencies and delay decisions.

He believes Crediflow AI’s technology has the potential to support lenders while making financing more accessible to businesses that need capital to grow.

The investment also builds on Crediflow AI’s earlier relationship with PXN Ventures. The startup was previously selected as one of eight businesses to receive investment through PXN’s PraeSeed programme, a 12-week cohort-based initiative delivered in partnership with the British Business Bank and NPIF II.

The funding comes through the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II, a £660 million investment initiative designed to support businesses across the North of England through debt and equity financing.

What’s Next for Crediflow AI?

With €1.8 million in fresh capital, Crediflow AI is preparing for its next stage of expansion. The company plans to accelerate platform development, strengthen its engineering and product teams, and bring more banks and specialist lenders onto its technology.

Beyond automating individual credit assessment tasks, its longer-term ambition is to extend AI-driven automation across the entire commercial lending lifecycle.

This includes developing workflows that support lenders from loan origination through underwriting and approval to ongoing portfolio monitoring. An important part of this strategy is ensuring that the technology can adapt to the individual credit policies, operational requirements, and risk frameworks of different financial institutions.

The direction reflects a broader shift in financial services, where AI is increasingly being explored not simply as a productivity tool but as a way to redesign complex business operations.

For commercial lenders, faster document processing and more structured financial insights could translate into improved operational capacity, more consistent assessments, and quicker financing decisions. For businesses seeking funding, reduced administrative delays could mean a smoother path to accessing the capital they need.

Crediflow AI is entering a market where accuracy, efficiency, and risk management are critical to sustainable lending. By combining industry experience with AI-powered automation, the Manchester-based startup is positioning itself to address a fundamental bottleneck in commercial finance.

Its latest funding provides the resources to take that ambition further, with the broader goal of making commercial lending faster, more intelligent, and better equipped to support business growth.
