At Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2022, Apple unveils its next-generation MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with the all-new M2 chip.
MacBook Air features a unique, skinny design in four stunning finishes, a more extensive 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, a brighter display with a notch, new color options like Starlight and Midnight, MagSafe charging, a 1080p HD camera, and more.
The latest MacBook Air arrives with 24GB of fast unified memory, ProRes acceleration, and up to 20 hours of battery life with a completely fanless body. The refreshed MacBook Air looks similar to the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. The new MacBook Air has a Magic Keyboard that includes full-size function keys and a Touch ID button for fingerprint authentication.
The notebook features a slightly larger 13.6-inch display with up to 500 units of brightness, a fanless design, a MagSafe connector and two Thunderbolt ports on the left side, and a headphone jack with support for high-impedance headphones, four speakers, three microphones, and more. The notebook is 11.3mm thick and weighs 2.7 pounds.
Apple declared it’s focused on power-efficient performance, maximizing speed performance while limiting the amount of power needed. The new MacBook Air will be available by next month.

MacBook Air with M2 starts at $1,199 in the United States, with all color options including Space Gray, Silver, Midnight, and Starlight. At the same time, the previous-generation MacBook Air with the M1 chip will remain available for $999. Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro starts at $1,299, According to Apple. The more affordable M1 Air remains in the lineup, too.
