A Cloud Partnership Between Uber and Oracle is Expected to Boost Innovation

Uber will shift some of its most crucial workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as part of the agreement, revolutionizing how people move.

A seven-year strategic cloud relationship between Oracle and Uber Technologies will help Uber innovate more quickly, bring new products to market, and boost profitability.

Uber must concentrate resources on its strategic ambitions and core competencies as the company expands and enters new areas. Uber will be able to modernize its infrastructure and quicken its path to profitability by moving some of the essential workloads within the organization to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

According to Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, “Uber is revolutionizing the way people, goods, and services move across continents and cities.” “We require a cloud provider who will enable us to maximize innovation while lowering our total infrastructure expenses to deliver on that promise for customers and create value for shareholders. Oracle offers the perfect balance of cost, performance, flexibility, and security to support our capacity to innovate new products, provide outstanding customer service, and boost profitability.”

Recent analyst reports and this new strategic alliance with Uber provide strong support for OCI’s plan and product goals. Customers demand infrastructure with the highest price-performance ratio and flexibility across a global footprint. Now that OCI is available, Uber may benefit from these features.

Cloud partners share a relentless focus on innovation

According to Oracle CEO Safra Catz, “Uber is expanding into a ‘go anywhere, get anything’ platform, and the firm needs a cloud partner who shares a relentless drive for innovation.” “This historic victory in a competitive setting for OCI is proof of the market’s pace and momentum. Businesses, governments, and startups worldwide recognize how Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is distinct from other hyper scalers and benefits from our performance, security, and financial advantages.”

The strategic relationship also entails other areas of collaboration between the two businesses outside the OCI agreement. Oracle will choose Uber as its preferred ridesharing for its employees’ international travel and dining by becoming an international Uber for Business client. As the cloud relationship develops, Uber and Oracle will keep cooperating on new retail and delivery solutions, such as customer experiences with last-mile logistics.
