Framingham, Massachusetts, United States — September 2026: Definitive Healthcare has appointed Clay Ritchey as Chief Executive Officer and a member of its Board of Directors, bringing more than 25 years of leadership experience across healthcare technology, data, product strategy, marketing and business growth.
Ritchey takes on the leadership role as Definitive Healthcare continues to advance its healthcare data and analytics capabilities. His extensive background includes leading healthcare technology companies through periods of growth, transformation and strategic transactions.
Leadership at Verato and Evariant
Before joining Definitive Healthcare, Ritchey served for more than five years as Chief Executive Officer of Verato, a company specializing in healthcare identity and master data management. In June 2026, following his CEO tenure, he transitioned to the role of Advisor to the Board.
At Verato, Ritchey developed significant experience in healthcare data, technology and organizational growth, positioning him for his new leadership mandate at Definitive Healthcare.
Previously, Ritchey served as Chief Executive Officer of Evariant from 2017 to 2020. During his tenure, he led the healthcare technology company through a successful exit to a strategic buyer, adding to his track record of building and scaling businesses in the healthcare technology sector.
Extensive Healthcare Technology Experience
Earlier in his career, Ritchey spent more than three years at Imprivata, serving as General Manager and Chief Marketing Officer. His tenure coincided with the company’s IPO and subsequent acquisition by a private equity buyer.
He also previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Equinox Healthcare, where he led the company through a successful strategic exit.
Ritchey’s experience extends beyond executive leadership. At Hill-Rom, he served as Vice President – Marketing and Strategy, IT Solutions, leading product strategy and go-to-market execution for a healthcare IT business.
Before Hill-Rom, Ritchey spent approximately five years with Kronos Incorporated as Senior Director, Product Marketing, where he was responsible for product and go-to-market strategy and execution.
A Career at the Intersection of Data, Technology and Growth
Throughout his career, Ritchey has worked at the intersection of healthcare technology, data, commercialization, product strategy and enterprise growth. His experience leading healthcare technology businesses and developing market strategies gives him a broad perspective on the evolving healthcare intelligence landscape.
Ritchey holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, which he completed in 1998.
