Johnny Cheng has been promoted to Senior Managing Director at Accenture, leading Digital Core and AI-driven transformation globally.
Dublin, Ireland – June 2026 – Global professional services leader Accenture has announced the promotion of Johnny Cheng to Senior Managing Director – Technology / Digital Core Lead, Software & Platform Industry Group, recognizing his outstanding leadership and contributions to digital transformation, cloud modernization, platform engineering, and business growth throughout his nearly two-decade tenure with the company.
In his new role, Cheng will lead Digital Core reinvention initiatives for Accenture’s Software & Platforms Industry Group across the United States and globally. He will focus on helping organizations strengthen their digital foundations, accelerate AI adoption, modernize technology ecosystems, and drive enterprise-wide transformation to unlock long-term business value.
Prior to this promotion, Cheng served as Technology Lead for the Software & Platform Industry Group in the United States, where he successfully expanded Accenture’s technology business while improving profitability and enhancing the firm’s competitive position within the technology consulting sector.
Throughout his career at Accenture, Cheng has held a series of senior leadership positions, including Platform Engineering Lead for the U.S. West region and Industry X Technology Lead, where he spearheaded initiatives in digital engineering, intelligent products, connected platforms, cloud transformation, and operational excellence. His leadership has supported clients across industries including technology, communications, media, financial services, public services, and manufacturing.
Over the course of 19 years with the company, Cheng has progressed through multiple leadership roles, building deep expertise in cloud computing, enterprise architecture, platform engineering, AI-driven modernization, and large-scale digital transformation. His strategic vision and commitment to innovation have helped organizations navigate complex technology challenges while delivering sustainable business growth.
As Senior Managing Director, Cheng is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping Accenture’s global Digital Core and Software & Platforms strategy, helping clients leverage AI, cloud, data, and engineering capabilities to accelerate reinvention and create lasting value in an increasingly digital economy.
