Ghent, Belgium — September 2026: Global immunology company argenx has appointed Loes Bresseleers as its new Global Head of HR, expanding her leadership responsibilities as the company enters its next phase of international growth.
Bresseleers brings nearly 18 years of human resources experience, spanning global HR leadership, organizational design, talent strategy, culture, employee experience and business transformation. Her career includes significant leadership roles at argenx, Johnson & Johnson and ING Belgium.
She joins the global HR leadership position after more than two years at argenx. Since April 2024, Bresseleers has served as Global Head HR – R&D, CMC, Quality, Business & Corporate Development, partnering with strategically important functions as the company expanded its scientific, development and corporate capabilities.
In her new role, Bresseleers will help shape argenx’s people and organizational strategy as the company scales while maintaining its entrepreneurial culture, collaborative operating model and patient-focused mission.
Extensive International HR Leadership
Prior to joining argenx, Bresseleers spent more than 11 years at Johnson & Johnson, taking on increasingly senior HR leadership positions across Europe, Africa and global functions.
Most recently, she served as Head of HR, Global Enterprise Functions – Quality and Compliance, where she provided strategic HR leadership across organizational design, talent and capability development, culture, employee experience, leadership coaching and team effectiveness. She also led a global team of HR leaders supporting Technical Operations and Risk.
Previously, Bresseleers was Head of HR, Switzerland, overseeing the cross-sector HR agenda for approximately 4,400 employees across nine sites, including manufacturing operations. Her responsibilities included supporting Janssen’s Global Value Chain organization and advancing talent planning, leadership effectiveness and integrated HR initiatives.
Bresseleers also served as Head of HR, South Africa, leading the HR function across Consumer, Medical Devices and Janssen for approximately 1,000 employees across five sites. During her tenure, she helped implement a new HR operating model, strengthen talent acquisition and leadership development, introduce digital HR tools and advance inclusion and transformation initiatives.
Earlier in her Johnson & Johnson career, she held roles including Global HR Leader – Pharma R&D and HR Manager, partnering with global and regional leadership teams on organizational design, succession planning, executive coaching, change management, employee development, engagement and culture.
Early Career and Academic Background
Before joining Johnson & Johnson, Bresseleers spent more than four years with ING Belgium, beginning as a Recruitment & Selection Officer before progressing to the role of HR Business Partner. Her responsibilities included recruitment, learning and development, performance management, compensation and employee relations.
Bresseleers holds a Master’s degree in Academische Lerarenopleiding from KU Leuven, which she completed between 2006 and 2008.
Her career reflects a combination of strategic HR business partnering and international leadership experience across R&D, supply chain, quality, corporate functions and geographically diverse organizations.
As Global Head of HR at argenx, Bresseleers will focus on strengthening the company’s organizational capabilities, leadership practices and ways of working to support future growth while preserving the entrepreneurial spirit and culture that underpin the organization.
