Meta One Launches in India With More AI and Business Tools From ₹79 a Month

Meta One

Meta is turning its growing portfolio of AI-powered experiences into a broader subscription business. The company has launched Meta One, a new subscription service spanning Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI, giving paying users higher AI usage, enhanced customisation and professional tools.

The rollout is particularly notable for its range of plans. In India, subscriptions begin at ₹79 per month, while users looking for more extensive AI access can opt for Meta One’s Core and Premium bundles. Creators and businesses get separate tiers with features designed around audience growth, analytics, account management and customer engagement.

Meta says the move is not about putting its core social platforms behind a paywall. Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and everyday Meta AI use will continue to be available for free, while subscriptions are designed for people who want additional capabilities and higher usage limits.

Meta One Brings More AI to Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp

The new service brings together more than 50 subscriber features across Meta’s ecosystem. According to Meta, the paid experience is aimed at users who want to do more with AI, particularly through image and video generation and creative tools integrated directly into its apps.

For example, subscribers to the higher individual plans can get greater access to Meta AI’s image and video-generation capabilities, while Instagram users can use tools such as Restyle more frequently. Voice effects and other expression-focused features are also part of the offering.

Meta said its early testing indicated that more than half of subscribers to the bundled plans used both AI and expression features. Restyle and Instagram voice effects were among the features that attracted significant interest during testing.

The launch builds on Meta’s earlier Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus subscriptions. Rather than replacing those individual services, Meta One brings their benefits together in larger bundles while adding increased access to more compute-intensive AI capabilities.

Meta One Pricing in India

For Indian users, Meta’s subscription portfolio now covers several price points:

WhatsApp Plus ₹79 WhatsApp customisation and additional features
Instagram Plus ₹99 Instagram expression and engagement features
Facebook Plus ₹99 Facebook customisation and additional features
Meta One Core ₹549 More AI generation and bundled app features
Meta One Premium ₹1,950 Higher AI and creative usage
Essential ₹639 Creator and business tools
Advanced ₹2,099 Professional publishing, analytics and team tools
Expert ₹6,399 Higher-capacity business features
Max ₹20,990 Large-scale business and Meta Business Agent usage

Pricing and available features can differ depending on the market, application, and individual account.

From AI Power Users to Businesses

Meta One is not limited to consumers experimenting with generative AI. Meta is also positioning the service as a toolkit for creators, entrepreneurs and businesses.

Its Essential plan introduces an enhanced profile that can display information such as a website, location, and customer or audience feedback. It also includes a verified badge, a verified WhatsApp Business channel and impersonation protection, subject to successful verification.

Another major component is Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp. Meta is giving paying businesses greater access to the AI-powered agent so they can respond to customers around the clock.

The company says it plans to expand the agent’s capabilities over time, including skills covering marketing, business operations, content creation and optimisation.

For businesses that need more sophisticated publishing and management capabilities, the Advanced tier adds tools such as scheduled Stories, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics and deeper audience insights. It also allows businesses to provide team members with account access without requiring them to share a password.

At the higher end, Expert and Max are designed for teams operating accounts at greater scale, with increased feature access and Meta Business Agent capacity.

Meta Wants AI Subscriptions to Go Beyond Chatbots

Meta One also reflects a broader shift in how Meta is packaging AI.

Instead of offering AI as a separate chatbot experience, the company is embedding higher levels of AI access directly into the platforms where users already spend time. That means generating content, modifying images, creating videos, analysing audience performance or responding to customers can happen within Meta’s existing ecosystem.

Meta says it has already recorded 15 million subscriptions and trials since beginning its subscription push, while more than 50 subscriber features have been introduced.

The company has also made clear that its subscriptions are not designed to remove advertising. The paid plans instead focus on additional features, greater usage and specialised capabilities.

Edits and AI Glasses Are Next

Meta’s subscription strategy is also expected to extend beyond its three major social platforms.

The company said Edits Plus will soon become part of Meta One, bringing additional cloud storage for syncing projects across devices. Subscribers will also get greater access to an upcoming Edits assistant designed to analyse Instagram insights and help creators develop new ideas.

Meta also plans to extend Meta One to Edits, AI glasses and other products over time.

The launch therefore represents more than another premium tier for Instagram or WhatsApp. Meta is building a subscription layer across its broader ecosystem, combining generative AI, social-media customisation, creator services and business automation under one umbrella.

For users, the distinction remains straightforward: Meta’s core apps and everyday AI capabilities stay free, while Meta One is aimed at those seeking more AI capacity, more creative tools or more advanced ways to manage an audience or business.
