Elon Musk has found a new CEO for Twitter. The billionaire made the unnamed announcement that she will begin her position in six weeks on Twitter. Elon Musk, a billionaire, said on Thursday that he had hired a new CEO for Twitter, as it is now known. He did not reveal the person’s identity, only that she would start in about six weeks. The Tesla CEO said on Twitter that his position would change to executive chairman and chief technology officer of Twitter.
For almost six months, Musk has clarified that he intends to appoint a new CEO for Twitter, which is situated in San Francisco. Just a few weeks after purchasing the social networking platform for $44 billion, in mid-November, he declared in front of a Delaware court that he did not want to lead any corporation.
“My role will transition to an executive chair & CTO (chief technology officer), overseeing product, software & sysops,” Musk stated. According to the WSJ, Linda Yaccarino of NBCUniversal was reportedly “in talks” for the position.
During his testimony, Musk stated, “I expect to spend less time at Twitter and find someone else to operate Twitter over time.
In a tweet from December, he stated, “I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job.”
After polling his fans in December, Musk decided to turn the reins over to Twitter. Concern over his being diverted from Tesla led close to 60% of people to support his resignation. He claimed then that he needed to find “someone foolish enough to take the job.”
Musk has a history of failing to meet his timelines and deliver on his promises, whether for innovative products like the Cybertruck or technological advancements like fully autonomous driving. At a February conference, he stated that he expected Twitter to find a CEO “probably toward the end of this year.”
