The annual trade show of the Consumer Technology Association, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), is known for displaying cutting-edge technology and developments from prominent inventors in the consumer electronics sector. CES 2024 is set to feature the most recent technological developments and gadgets from various industries, including technology, transportation, healthcare, and more, emphasizing the growing usage of artificial intelligence. Notably, the program will not feature Sam Altman, the poster boy for AI innovation.
According to the Associated Press, CES is the world’s largest in-person tech expo, with over 1,30,000 attendees expected this year and over 4,000 exhibitors; the display space is estimated to exceed 2.5 million net square feet.
While the current numbers are approximately 24% fewer than the last CES hosted before the pandemic in 2020, there are significant improvements over the previous year, with 1,18,000 participants expected to attend the show in 2023.
Where will the CES be hosted in 2024?
The 2024 edition of CES is set to take place this year in Las Vegas, Nevada, at locations including the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Venetian Expo, and the Aria Resort & Casino. CES 2024 will occur from Tuesday, January 9, until Friday, January 12. In addition, two in-person Media Days, open only to press members, are planned for January 7 and 8.
Giant corporations to exhibit at CES
CES 2024 will feature the participation of semiconductor giants such as Intel, AMD, and Nvidia and top firms in the mobile and home electronics sectors such as Samsung, Google, LG, and Amazon. Along with the attendance of many automobile companies such as BMW, PC manufacturers such as Asus and HP are anticipated to demonstrate their advances.
CES, on the other hand, is not open to the general public. According to the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the trade show is officially defined as a “trade-only event,” with admission limited to those aged 18 and over who are associated with the consumer technology business.
