A WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP ASCENT

LEADERSHIP ASCENT

Dr. Renae Symonette

In my life as a leader I live by a higher code. My leadership was developed through my strong belief in God, the individuals who I chose to surround myself with, who poured wisdom into my life and my commitment to follow through no matter what obstacles I faced.  My goal, was to learn, grow, and make an impact as an exceptional and effective leader.

In your ASCENT, You will learn as a successful women, that your leadership stance will evolve throughout your life. You will discover that in your progression, there are specific principles and standards that you will need. And You will be able to harness these qualities in different ways. To begin the process of stirring this type of effect, will require focus. The focus on your movement will take on a great significance because there are people following your example and looking up to you. It is an awesome responsibility to be a role model to other women. You have to learn and understand the need to evolve and change in order to become a better person for the world to continue to watch and follow you. Your pulse should always be rapidly advancing upward. You will find that the various roles you fill requires multi-tasking, therefore you need to be able to find a balance in your personal, and professional life. I believe that as a woman in leadership your ASCENT will take on three characteristics that will provide this base for you.

First, Consistency: You will have to display a Consistent behavior.

Second, Courage: You will have to build a Courageous fortitude.

And Third, Resilience: You will have to become more Resilient.

SCALE  &  SOAR

  1. In Your ASCENT Consistency matters.

Be consistent. Scale and soar, fly high and break the limits. It is essential for building habits, reaching long-term goals, and creating systems that work in both your personal and professional life. As a woman leader you must demonstrate consistency through your dedication, focus, and ability to remain committed to a task or purpose. Whether you are developing new skills, strengthening relationships, or establishing productive routines, showing up regularly can make a meaningful difference—not only in your own success but also in the lives of those you serve and lead. As a consistent woman leader you bring diverse perspectives, creative problem-solving skills, and a thoughtful approach to leadership. Your participation in leadership roles adds unique value to your organization by increasing productivity, strengthening collaboration, and creating an environment in which others can thrive. Your Consistency often begins with small, intentional steps that gradually lead to greater results. You must also remain flexible, reassessing and adapting your goals when circumstances change. Consistency does not require perfection. It requires persistence. The path may shift, but staying committed to the purpose makes continued progress possible. Rather than striving to be perfect, as a woman leader you should focus on learning, adapting, and moving forward.

As a consistent woman in leadership  you must often overcome both personal and professional barriers. The first step is identifying those barriers and understanding how they affect your progress. You can then evaluate the available information, and decide whether an idea is worth pursuing, then take purposeful action. Each step builds forward momentum, confidence, and the courage to take the next one. Feeling stuck or uncertain about your progress is common. At times, you can become your own greatest obstacle. Self-doubt, fear of failure, and a lack of confidence can limit your professional growth and prevent you from reaching your full potential. However, You do not have to face these challenges alone. Trusted colleagues, friends, mentors, and coaches can offer valuable perspectives and help you  to develop a clear path forward. Support from others also strengthens your consistency. Accountability and encouragement can deepen your commitment, restore motivation, and create opportunities for growth. Strong leadership is not about doing everything alone; it is about recognizing when to seek guidance, accept support, and learn from others. As a women leader ascending, you must remain consistent as you address systemic challenges and drive meaningful transformation. With a renewed sense of purpose, you can embrace change, overcome barriers, and lead with confidence. Your consistency will turn intention into action—and action into lasting impact. Continue to Scale new heights and Soar above the clouds.

CLIMB  &  ADVANCE

  1. In Your ASCENT Courage matters.

Be courageous, climb and advance; Be brave and stand firm. Your courage is closely tied to your actions, you may sometimes misunderstand what it means to be courageous. It does not always mean rescuing everyone or having all the answers. Sometimes, it means acknowledging your concerns, recognizing your capabilities, and taking the next step despite uncertainty. Courage can be as practical as breaking a daunting task into smaller, manageable steps. It also means building resilience, reframing failure, and treating mistakes as a natural part of learning. Real confidence grows from the skills develop through everyday experiences. Give yourself permission to try, even when you may not perform perfectly. Every attempt creates an opportunity to learn and improve. For a courageous woman leader, communication is essential. You must have the courage to speak up, offer correction, and inspire change. You should give constructive feedback to your team and contribute valuable ideas and thoughtful questions during meetings so others feel encouraged to participate. Courage also means approaching conversations with a desire to contribute and learn rather than control the outcome. Clear, simple language helps others understand, process, and remember important information.

Courage offers many benefits. It helps you as a  leader in your ASCENT to manage risk more effectively, by carefully considering the possible costs and benefits, then taking action despite your fear. It empowers you to pursue what matters in your personal life, career, and community. Your Courage also builds your self-esteem, strengthens your confidence, and creates a greater belief in your abilities. As your courage grows, so does your perspective. You become more willing to pursue meaningful goals, embrace new experiences, and act on valuable opportunities. Your example may also encourage others. When people see you face challenges with courage, they may begin to recognize their own capacity to do the same. As a courageous woman you have the strength to chart your own course. You are willing to take thoughtful risks, explore new possibilities, persevere through setbacks, and remain steady when faced with fear or uncertainty. Courage does not mean being fearless. It means refusing to let fear make your decisions. To my successful women leaders continue to Climb higher  and advance steadily because, Your courage matters!

PROGRESS  &  RISE

  1. In Your ASCENT Resilience matters.

Be Resilient in your Progress and be Resilient in your Rise. Bounce back strong, learn to adapt. It will allow you to recover from setbacks and move forward with a renewed strength. As a resilient leader you will anticipate challenges and focuses on constructive ways to address them, rather than becoming consumed by possible negative outcomes. This approach will help you feel more capable and less overwhelmed. Maintaining perspective is an important part of your resilience. When a problem arises, ask yourself, “How serious is this, and what steps can I take to address it?” Avoid exaggerating the situation. Remind yourself that circumstances can change and that you have a choice in how you respond. Change and uncertainty are natural parts of life. Accepting them allows you to react with greater flexibility, patience, and confidence. You can now view setbacks as opportunities for growth rather than proof of inadequacy. So set manageable goals and create small, achievable objectives that build confidence and establish progress. When things go wrong, replace harsh self-criticism with honest reflection and encouragement. Many outcomes are beyond your control, and as an effective leader you can learn to accept that reality without allowing it to weaken your resolve. During adversity, you can strengthen your impact by aligning your daily work with meaningful personal and organizational goals. Identify your priorities, understand your values, and communicate your results clearly. Growth is about more than completing high-level tasks or achieving quick wins. It requires knowing where you are going, why the destination matters, and how your actions support the people around you.

Your Balance also matters. A fulfilling life includes meaningful work, time with your team, and strong relationships with family and friends. Adversity may knock you down, but resilience allows you to rise with greater wisdom and strength. Rather than letting hardship, trauma, or failure drain your determination, you can adjust your course, heal emotionally, and continue moving toward your goals. Resilience also shapes your personal and professional identity. As people come to know you as a, mother, wife, aunt, grandmother, mentor, entrepreneur, businesswoman, or community leader, they begin to understand your purpose, values, and unique strengths. Your actions show what sets you apart. When your attitude and service remain consistent across different roles and settings, you build credibility and trust. That trust expands your influence. By listening carefully, understanding what others care about, and offering consistent value, you become better equipped to address real-life problems. Whether you are working with clients, customers, colleagues, or loved ones, resilience helps you remain dependable even when circumstances become difficult. As a resilient leader ascending, know that you can also improve your teams performance by helping them succeed. Leadership is not about forcing a personal agenda. It is about sharing useful insights, creating practical solutions, reconnecting with people, and reassessing priorities when challenges arise. Influence does not appear overnight. It develops gradually through trust, service, consistency, and shared progress. Adversity does not have to define your limits. It can reveal your strength, deepen your purpose, and prepare you to lead others through challenges of their own.  Continue to Progress  and Rise to the occasion. Whatever life brings, you must always remain resilient.
