Aaron Kraus has been promoted to Executive Director, Workforce Strategy & Innovation at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, leading AI-ready workforce transformation.
Boston, Massachusetts, United States – June 2026 – Vertex Pharmaceuticals has promoted Aaron Kraus to Executive Director, Workforce Strategy & Innovation, expanding his leadership responsibilities to drive enterprise workforce transformation and AI-enabled organizational innovation.
In his new role, Kraus will lead initiatives focused on workforce planning, organizational design, AI-powered work redesign, and enterprise transformation. He will help shape Vertex’s human-centered, AI-ready workforce by developing the capabilities, operating models, and talent strategies needed to support the company’s continued growth and scientific innovation.
Before this promotion, Kraus served as Senior Director, Enterprise Workforce Planning & Lead HR Business Partner for Data, Technology & AI, where he partnered with executive leadership to align workforce strategy with business objectives. He led enterprise workforce planning across long-range planning, budgeting, and forecasting while advancing AI-enabled operating models, emerging technology career frameworks, and the transformation of Vertex’s Data, Technology, and Engineering organization.
Earlier, Kraus was Senior Director, HR Business Partner for Data, Technology & AI, supporting the company’s Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Information Officer in scaling global technology, AI, computational sciences, and data science teams through strategic talent planning and organizational design.
Prior to joining Vertex, Kraus spent more than eight years at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he held several senior HR and talent leadership positions. His experience spans workforce planning, organizational transformation, leadership development, employee experience, and technology talent strategy. He began his career in organizational consulting and industrial-organizational psychology, building expertise in workforce analytics, competency modeling, organizational development, and evidence-based talent management.
As Executive Director, Kraus is expected to play a key role in advancing Vertex’s enterprise workforce strategy, enabling the organization to harness AI, strengthen organizational capabilities, and prepare its workforce for the evolving future of work.
