Global businesses have seen a paradigm shift with the changing technology. Some have
adopted different Business models, some have focused their attention onto fewer but
broader things, and some like Facebook have even changed their name to denote the
changing focus.
The new avatar of Facebook, meta, would be focusing its attention on the metaverse, a
virtual reality world where users can interact, game, and experience things as they would in
the real world.
But there are certain challenges that lie ahead of meta that need urgent attention & therefore
meta is exploring the world of video products or Instagram reels.
With the user base fast dwindling, the meta social networking app lost about half a million
users over the fourth quarter from the previous quarter. There have also been certain
challenges like Apple's policy changes etc that hurt meta in a big way which is evident from
falling stock prices.

Meta's Instagram reels is seen as a direct competitor to tik tok & an innovative way to attract
the user base. The short video format is already working well with the gen-z crowd whose
attention span has reduced drastically.
This move from Zuckerberg is seen as meta-erstwhile Facebook's new way of dealing with
its ever-rising challenges.
Well, whether it works out well or not only time will tell. But we as users shall hope for a
wonderful user experience, as the likely change in focus would mean we get a better version
of our favorite – Instagram Reels!
